 Planning winter in spring

THERE are lots of winter spots all over the world. It is better to plan on where to go this winter. It is even better to scout ahead and look for the best spots while you’re on your one-week spring break. The greatest threat during winter vacations is always the snow avalanches. Let’s take a look right now at the great winter vacations all over the world.

Garabandal is Spain looks dry during summer but during winter, you may find snow in certain areas. Garabandal is the most religious spot for all Roman Catholics in Spain. It is here where the Virgin Mary reportedly had an apparition during the 1960s. There is no skiing spot here though as there is less snow but at least, you do not get too cold. And you are in communion with God because Garabandal is a perfect spot for relaxation and spiritual reflection. As temperatures can still be at 13 degrees Celsius, you still need to wear another layer of clothing over your usual casual street apparel. Always make sure not to don anything cottony as cotton tends to absorb moisture and you will get even colder with that.

If you can still concentrate praying to God in a not so religious site, then go to the Pyrenees. The Pyrenees is the second most attractive winter site in Europe, next to the Alps of course. It is nice to come here during spring because it is not as cold and the snow is not as slippery. Therefore, this is the time to teach your kid how to ski at the same time guide him or her to the best places in Europe for one whole week while both child and parent are on their one-week spring break from school and work, respectively.

Overseas, there are also a number of spectacular winter spots such as Mount Teide in Tenerife in the Canary Islands. Mount Teide is a dormant volcano and it snows there during winter even though Tenerife is located off the Horn of Africa.

Let’s now go near to home as we unfold you some of the spectacular winter vacation spots here. One of them is the Peregrine Cliff in Maryland. The Peregrine Cliff has an overlooking view of the Chesapeake Bay and there are lots of vacation manors right there for sale so you can have a totally serene winter vacation by December 2008.
